As you all know the access to stadiums for trainings and game times are very restricted. The committee has supported the new proposed venue that will include increased court space that the POBC hopes will have access to.
We need club support. Please submit support via http://www.manningham.vic.gov.au/planning-register/submission?app_id=PL15/025480
We ask that members support the club by clicking on the link, making a submission in support of the facility including the words “Park Orchards Basketball Club”, “urgent need for more Court space” and “vital to support the tremendous growth in basketball participation in Manningham” or similar.
If you do a submission send a copy of your submission to me at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will giveaway a NEW STEELERS HOODIE or TEE SHIRT (your choice- one per submission) for the best 2 submissions (decision at the first committee meeting after closure).
These need to be in ASAP and we will close this give away on Wednesday 14th October 2015.
Details about the stadium

A planning permit application for the proposed multi-use stadium at Mullum Mullum Reserve in Donvale has been submitted.
The stadium is a key feature of the Mullum Mullum Reserve Management Plan endorsed by Council in 2014. The stadium is proposed to include five multi-use sports courts, seating for up to 500 spectators, amenities and a café. It is proposed to cater for a range of sports, such as basketball, netball, badminton and volleyball. The facility will be critical to addressing the shortage of court space throughout Manningham.
The proposed development includes an additional 235 car parking spaces to ensure the stadium will complement existing sporting facilities within the reserve.
The planning permit is currently on public exhibition until Wednesday 9 September 2015. Council can consider all submissions up until the day a decision is made on the application. Submissions must be made in writing and include your name and address.
Following the public exhibition period, a report will be prepared for Council to consider the planning permit application later this year.
Subject to planning approval, construction is anticipated to commence in late 2016, with the facility expected to be open to the public by the middle of 2018.
